An Essex pub threw its doors open on 3 November to showcase the pub’s new carvery offering.

The popular Greene King pub, the Dick Turpin in Arterial Road, Wickford has received a six-figure refurbishment, creating job opportunities in the process. Guests will benefit from an improved food offering including the introduction of a mouth-watering carvery.

The new carvery will be served fresh every day, and will feature a minimum of three meats that have been slow cooked for up to 14 hours, and eight seasonal vegetables. A new menu has also been introduced, which is full of pub classics, such as hand-battered cod and chips, British beef and ale pie, and 28-day aged steaks served fresh from the grill.

Alongside the improved food offering, the Dick Turpin has also been revamped throughout. The new-look pub, will maintain its traditional features and comfortable, homely atmosphere.

Simon Bacon, general manager at the Dick Turpin, said: “The Dick Turpin has always been a popular destination for people in Essex, so we’re pleased to be able to offer a new and improved food offering to our Essex neighbours.

“The investment has been a real success, with great feedback on the new carvery, and pub menu and family-friendly pub atmosphere. We look forward to welcoming loyal and new guests over the coming months.”
